SAPS/4HANA

Shift to S/4HANA Development

Starting September 16, 2024, with the release of remQ 10.0, remQ will now focus exclusively on development for SAP S/4HANA, in line with SAP’s maintenance strategy. While existing checks and features will still be supported on ECC 6.0, no new functionality will be added. Organizations are encouraged to transition to S/4HANA to take advantage of ongoing innovations and new capabilities.

Monitoring remQ Checks and Job Logs

Administrators can track the execution of remQ checks through the logging feature, helping ensure smooth system operation. Job logs can be activated and managed using specific SAP transactions.

Benford Tool for Detecting Irregularities

The Benford Tool in remQ uses Benford's Law to help identify potential irregularities in financial data. Benford's Law suggests that in many natural datasets, smaller numbers appear more frequently as leading digits. For example, the number 1 appears about 30% of the time, while 9 appears less than 5%. This pattern can help detect anomalies in financial records that may suggest manipulation.

Levenshtein Difference for P2P_2INV

The P2P_2INV check now includes the Levenshtein distance algorithm, which measures the similarity between two strings, such as vendor names or reference numbers. This helps identify minor discrepancies that may indicate potential issues, like duplicate invoices with slight variations in vendor data.

New Parameters and Features

  • P2P_INV_PAID_BFR_DUE: A "Days" parameter has been added to adjust the invoice due date.
  • GL_AP_DEB_BLNC: Cumulative balance tracking has been introduced for better financial monitoring.
  • O2C_PRCORD: A new parameter allows for the exclusion of rejected sales orders.

Bug Fixes and Enhancements

Numerous bugs have been resolved, including adaptations for S/4HANA in checks like O2C_PO_DIS and GL_ER, along with improvements to O2C_MD_AD and P2P_MD_AD. Issues with GL_SOD_ACC and job cancellations have also been addressed.

In summary, the transition to S/4HANA marks a significant milestone for remQ, bringing new features, checks, and tools such as the Benford Tool and UI5 Dashboard that enhance remQ’s detection capabilities and system features. Moving to S/4HANA will enable organizations to fully benefit from these advancements.
